Birth Marks
This series reworks mother molds from cast paintings, presented through both their outer shells and inner cavities. The outsides appear as reversals—negatives that register absence and the erasure of form. The insides hold positives, marked by dark blots and drips carried over from earlier works. Together, these two surfaces reveal how a single body holds both loss and inheritance.
Scanned, mirrored, and reanimated as composite video loops, the molds waver between presence and distortion. Each work shows how material trace shifts through repetition, remembrance, and time.
2024. Infinite 15-second video projection loops, dimensions variable. Video composite built from photographed plaster mother molds of painting casts and fragments of acrylic.
Videos include patterned motion effects.
