Birth Marks
This series repurposes mother molds from cast paintings—digitally scanned, mirrored, and layered with surface residue from older works. Photo-based drips and stains are manipulated through distortion effects to build composite video loops.
What held form now fragments, degrades, and reforms. Each piece sits at the edge of preservation and erosion, where structure begins to slip and memory starts to pixelate. The works question what it means to preserve, distort, or reframe something that’s already been lost. There is no restoration—only a return through the image itself.
2024. Full screen high-definition streaming optimal. Infinite 30-second video projection loops, dimensions variable. Composite of plaster mother molds of painting casts and fragments of acrylic on mylar and canvas.
Videos have patterned motion effects.
