Echolocation

This series layers animal echolocation recordings with digital manipulations of discarded paintings, creating looping videos that echo cycles of call and response, rupture and return. Surface distortions—melting, bleaching, feedback—disrupt the original image, transforming static form into shifting resonance.

Echolocation becomes both method and metaphor: a way of navigating uncertainty, locating self through signal and distortion. The work traces the tension between isolation and interconnection, evoking a world where orientation, survival, and recognition depend on subtle rhythms—bodily, ecological, and cosmic.
